‘Tulsa RV’ Opens Second Full-Service Dealership
March 29, 2017 by Bob Ashely
”We closed the deal on Thursday (March 23) and opened Monday,” said Craig Goldrich, owner of both stores who also continues to run the consignment lot.Tulsa RV, a consignment dealer founded on the brink of the Great Recession, opened its second full-service dealership Monday (March 27) on the east side of Tulsa, Okla.
The new open-air lot on 4.4 acres along Interstate 44 will carry Forest River Inc. towable and motorized RVs. The new 5,300-square-foot facility, formerly the location of a trucking company, will also have two service bays.
Tulsa RV’s initial full-service store, also on I-44, opened two years ago six miles away, primarily carrying Keystone towable brands, along with Forest River motorhomes.
”I was a guy on the corner selling 15 units a month,” Goldrich said. ”Now I’m selling 50.”
Goldrich opened the Tulsa RV lot that sells consignments and repossessed RVs from banks in 2007. Among the incentives to open the new store was that he was able to buy the property, Goldrich reported.
”This is a purchase,” he said. ”My other place is a lease. At the end of the day, you’re always looking for your own place. We’ve been busy and business has been great, but I’ve always been looking for that ‘home.’ Now I have a long-term place.”
The Tulsa-area economy is strong, he noted, and he’s already received calls from potential customers who will be working on the Keystone Pipeline, which recently was authorized by President Trump.
”We’ve already had pipeliners calling and saying they want this and they want that,” Goldrich said. ”I went through bad times and now I’m going through the good times.”
